A fourteen year old boy named Ricky finds himself caught between two worlds. He's invited into another dimension by an unusual group of men who offer him a mission. The mission is to help a boy in his school who is being bullied. Ricky accepts the mission, but finds out later that knowing these men can complicate his life. He has to learn how to live with this unique experience, and learn how to be a true friend.

After having her own children, Brie Liberty‘s interests in children grew. She owned and operated a day school for young children in Sedona, Arizona in 1988 for 5 years.
What really inspired Ms Liberty to write the book, The Secret of the Lake, was from her own personal experience with a high school friend who was bullied. As she has said herself, “it bothered me then, and it bothers me now.” This is an attempt to shine some light on a very difficult challenge that so many children are forced to face alone.
